Metallica joins Jimmy Fallon and The Roots in the "Tonight Show" music room to perform "Enter Sandman" with classroom instruments. (Published Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016)

In a dream jam session, Metallica teamed up with The Roots and Jimmy Fallon for a rendition of "Enter Sandman" in “The Tonight Show’s” music room on Wednesday.

The talk show host and Metallica swapped swag for their performance, with Fallon and The Roots wearing Metallica tees while the heavy metal band rocked “Tonight Show”-themed apparel. Using classroom instruments, like kazoos and toy drums, they took the 1991 song in a new direction.

But despite their simple tools, chances are they sounded a lot better than the kids at a first grade recital.
