Woody Harrelson Joins the Star Wars Universe in Upcoming Han Solo Film

The stand-alone Han Solo film is scheduled for release in 2018

Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award winner Woody Harrelson is set to join the cast of the stand-alone Han Solo film scheduled for release in 2018.

Harrelson will be joining Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo), Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian), and Emilia Clarke in the Han Solo anthology film.

The film will be the second in a series of film outside of the Skywalker family storyline. The first, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, scored $155 million on its opening weekend.

“We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody,” said the film’s directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. “His ability to find both humor and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique. He is also very good at ping pong.”

The film is being produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur, and Simon Emanuel. It is set to arrive in theaters next year.
