Report: Leading Daily Fantasy Sports Sites to Merge

The two leading daily fantasy sports sites will be merging, according to a report, but one of the companies has denied it.

Former Fortune reporter Dan Primack wrote in a blog post on LinkedIn, citing three sources familiar with the situation, that DraftKings and FanDuel will be joining forces.

Daily fantasy sports quickly became very popular, and controversy over its legality followed. Throughout 2015 and 2016, states have made moves to regulate or ban betting on the sites.

After reaching out to both companies, DraftKings refused to comment to necn. FanDuel, meanwhile, denied such a deal.

"There is no merger," FanDuel stated. "We're not commenting on this."
