New Hampshire Ski Areas Report 31 Percent Increase in Visits

A preliminary look at New Hampshire's ski season shows business improved across the state this winter.

The Ski New Hampshire trade association says it's still tallying the final figures, but skier visits to 10 of the state's alpine resorts were up 31 percent during the 2016-2017 season compared to the previous year. Nordic areas saw similar increases.

Marketing manager Karolyn Castaldo says winter storms blew through when it really mattered this season - during Christmas vacation and leading up to Presidents Day weekend and February vacation. And more snow in March allowed some resorts to extend their season by a week or two.
