Firefighters battled a 2-alarm fire in Lynn, Mass. that occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
According to officials, there were four people inside the home but they were all able to evacuate with no injuries.
Sheldon Thompson lives next door and also had to evacuate his home.
“I smelled smoke. I saw it coming through my window. I looked outside I saw the smoke. I went downstairs. I looked outside seen flames coming out the first floor window. I called 911. I got everybody out the building. Got my kids and my wife out the building,” he said.
Stephen Archer, District Chief for the Lynn Fire Department says that the fire was a challenge to handle.
“Because of the body of the fire on arrival," he said. "When we have that much fire on arrival- gaining access, getting to the seat of the fire, and getting it knocked down was really really challenging.”
Officials believe the fire may have started in the kitchen, but they are still investigating the cause.
