No Bail for 2 Brothers Charged in Fatal Brick Assault in Lynn, Massachusetts

Police have arrested two brothers in connection with a fatal assault in Lynn, Massachusetts on Mother's Day.

Werner Garcia Figueroa, 19, and Selvin F. Garcia, 23, both of 15 Bassett St., in Lynn, were taken into police custody overnight, according to police. They are charged with murder, armed robbery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Authorities said Garcia Figueroa and Garcia assaulted two men with a brick on Blake Street around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.

One of the victims, a 39-year-old Reading man, was sent to the hospital and died of his injuries the next morning. The other was taken to a local hospital and is expected to live.

Prosecutors said the assault stemmed from an earlier dispute inside the Las Vegas bar on Munroe Street. The suspects allegedly waited for the victims to leave and then attacked them.

Police were able to use video from the bar to identify the suspects.

Garcia Figueroa and Garcia were ordered held without bail at their arraignment Friday in Lynn District Court. They are scheduled to return to court on June 27.

Attorneys for both suspects said their clients are innocent.
