Man Runs Into Burning Building, Notifies Worker to Get Out

A Massachusetts man ran into a burning building Wednesday in Walpole, Massachusetts, to make sure everyone was OK.

The fire broke out at 942 East St. Fire crews responded around 11:30 a.m.

When Lewis Grant, who works at Farmer in the Dell, a nearby deli, ran into the building to make sure no residents were home. He then went into Walpole Music, located downstairs.

Greg DiGregorio was inside and unaware there was anything going on.

"I was downstairs. I was working and someone from the deli came over and told me there was a fire on the third floor," DiGregorio said.

He's thankful to Lewis, but he's upset for the tenants and the future of the music store.

"It's like a community spot. Everyone knows it. We have been here for 46-47 years, so everyone knows this place and it's just a landmark," he said. "Everyone comes in and you get to know everyone. The students are great. It's just a nice little place to be."

No one was hurt in the fire, and much of the music store was saved by the firefighters who extinguished the flames.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
