The Boston Free Speech group called for the rally and the Boston Antifa supporters reacted by organizing a counter-protest.

While the climate in the Boston Common was contentious with chanting, yelling, and name-calling among the couple of hundred demonstrators on each side, police did an effective job of containing the crowds. The police created a one hundred yard gap separating the groups. There were two arrests for affray, according to Boston Police. [[422186333, C]]

Occasionally a person from one of the groups would get close to the opposition, but police interceded to tamp down the confrontations.

The Boston Free Speech supporters were comprised of Oathkeepers, Connecticut Militia, Massachusetts Militia, New York Militia, and AP3 from different states, according to one of the participants.

The vast majority of the Boston Free Speech supporters are pro-Trump.
