Cyclist Taken to Hospital With Serious Injuries After Boston Crash

A cyclist is in the hospital after crashing his bike in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston.

According to Massachusetts State Police, a male cyclist was reported down on Perkins Street East, just west of the Jamaicaway, at about 3:20 p.m.

The man, who was identified as a 64-year-old from Jamaica Plain, was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital with serious injuries, State Police said.

An investigation revealed that the man lost control of his bike, causing it to crash. There were no vehicles involved, State Police said.

The road where the crash occurred, however, is busy and difficult to navigate on a bike, according to local cyclists.

"You always have to pay attention, no matter what. To every car, every detail, everybody walking by you... it doesn't matter what it is," Max Singer, a local cyclist, said.
