Denny's in Danvers Has Closed

There are no more Boston-area Denny's inside I-495

A longtime family-friendly restaurant chain has officially disappeared from the Boston-area landscape.

According to a source, Denny's in Danvers is no longer in business, with the place having its windows papered over and a check on the locations part of the website showing that the outlet has indeed been taken down from the site. (An earlier Salem News article mentioned that the Endicott Street eatery had been slated to close in October.) With the closing of Denny's in Danvers, this means that there are no more locations of the chain inside Route 495, and that the closest one to Boston is now a bit under 30 miles away in Lawrence.

Denny's first started out as a donut stand called "Danny's Donuts" back in 1953, eventually changing over to Danny's Coffee Shops then Denny's Coffee Shops before simply becoming "Denny's" in 1961, according to the chain's website.

The address for the now-closed Denny's in Danvers was 152 Endicott Street, Danvers, MA, 01923.
