Earlier severe thunderstorm warnings and watches for parts of New England have expired with no reports of serious damage.
As the temperatures soared Monday, we broke out in plenty of sun and our humidity soared to heights we are used to seeing in the middle of summer so there's plenty of instability to fuel some strong to severe storms. Damaging wind and large hail will be the biggest threats from any storm that develops.
The storms and showers move out later Monday night, and more refreshing air moves in. Dry air, a northwest breeze, sunshine and cooler temperatures welcome us into Tuesday.
Highs both Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the low 70s to mid-60s. Clouds return for late Thursday and so do the scattered showers. We dry off Friday afternoon with highs in the 70s.
Memorial Day weekend does not look like a washout so don't cancel plans at this point. Showers and storms are possible Saturday with highs in the upper 70s. It will be dry Sunday and in the mid-70s, while Memorial Day brings a slim chance for a shower and more low 70s.
