Food Truck Friday: Among Best Falafel This Side of the Atlantic

Owner and chef Ari Kendall says his food truck dream got started after working as a chef in Boston for seven years and finally deciding to open his own business

The Chik Chak food truck is dedicated to bringing you an authentic Mediterranean experience, complete with fantastic spices.

Their menu is packed with Middle Eastern foods like shawarma, baba ganoush and falafel.

Owner and Chef Ari Kendall said, “Our falafel is definitely bar none some of the best you’re gonna get this side of the Atlantic.”

Kendall says his food truck dream got started after working as a chef in Boston for about seven years and finally deciding to open his own business.

The process had its share of challenges.

"On our second day on the road we had a gas leak and a fire which actually took the truck down completely and was about five months to rebuild," said Kendall.

Chik Chak also has a special homemade hot sauce that blends different spices, such as caraway seeds and cardamom.

Kendall says he plans to expand the business and loves Boston's food truck scene.

"I like the tight community. There’s a real comradery between the truck owners, as opposed to some of the steep competition between restaurants," said Kendall. "There’s a really nice communal atmosphere. Everyone’s new in this industry so everyone has kind of come in like, 'we’re in this together.'"
