Harvard Crimson Website Hacked to Mock Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg

The website of Harvard University's student newspaper was hacked on Thursday to mock Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who was at the school to give the commencement address.

According to images shared on social media, the site's stories were replaced by fake stories trolling Zuckerberg. The hack apparently occurred around 2 p.m., shortly before Zuckerberg was scheduled to speak on campus.

The Harvard Crimson acknowledged the hack on Twitter and Facebook, saying an "unauthorized user" had altered the site.

"We are currently working to repair the breach," the Crimson said. "We regret any inconvenience to our readers and look forward to the rest of Commencement."

By 4 p.m., the website had returned to normal, populated by actual stories, including some about commencement and the year in review.

Zuckerberg, 33, famously dropped out of Harvard to focus on Facebook, which he started in his dorm room in 2004.
