A Boston husband and wife are being held on $500,000 bail after appearing in court on human trafficking charges Thursday.
The Suffolk District Attorney's Office says Yuet Chow, 53, and Kim Chow, 68, were arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court after they were indicted for human trafficking and deriving support from prostitution for allegedly running a human trafficking ring in the city's Brighton neighborhood.
The alleged operation reportedly happened out of Haskell Street. Officials say the property was used for the trafficking 12 hours a day, seven days a week.
They say the home was leased under Kim Chow's name and paid for with the couple's joint account.
During the original search in September, detectives found three women who traveled from New York City to stay at the building for 10 days. They also found ledgers, condoms , $20,000 and other evidence.
Police began investigating after receiving a report of a steady stream of men entering the property.
The original bail after their September arraignment was set at $1 million, but was reduced to $500,000.
