Improving Weather This Weekend as Subtropical Storm Melissa Departs

Saturday will be a transition day, with still gusty northeast winds and waves of rain and drizzle this morning along the coast

The long holiday weekend is here and we are ready for some sunshine across Boston and eastern New England. Subtropical Storm Melissa continues to slowly pull away from us Saturday and our weather improves dramatically by Sunday.

Saturday will be a transition day, with still gusty northeast winds and waves of rain and drizzle this morning along the coast. Inland areas will continue to dry out. In fact, across Vermont, New Hampshire and northern Maine you will continue to have a great dry stretch of weather. Highs reach the low 50s on the coast, to the low 60s inland where we see more sunshine.

Sunday is the pick of the Columbus Day Weekend. Sunshine for most of New England with highs in the mid 60s. A quick system brushes across southern New England Monday morning, so we have a few showers in the forecast. Clearing and drying by the afternoon for everyone with highs in the mid 60s.

Tuesday will be dry with highs in the low 60s. Wednesday into Thursday there may be another coastal storm heading our way. This will bring some more rain across all of New England, but the good thing is it moves much faster than this last storm. But Friday we’re sunny and in the upper 50s. Next weekend may be warmer with 60s to low 70s through the rest of the 10-day.
