Snowboarder Dies After Being Rescued at Stowe Mountain Resort

He was located off a trail in thick woods

A Massachusetts snowboarder who was rescued after going missing at Stowe Mountain Resort in Vermont has died after being taken to a hospital Monday night.

Officials began looking for the man, later identified as 22-year-old Needham resident Brett Cohen, around 3:30 p.m., according to Stowe police, and was eventually found off a trail in thick woods around 11:30 p.m.

Cohen was taken to the University of Vermont Medical Center for evaluation, but died Tuesday morning.

The incident remains under investigation.
