‘They're Shocked': Family, Friends Mourn Man Struck and Killed in Nashua, NH

Police are investigating what neighbors are calling a freak accident in Nashua, New Hampshire.

The investigation on Allds Street is ongoing after police say a pedestrian was hit and killed by a garbage truck.

"Sad, it's very sad," said neighbor Cindy Miner.

"You never know when it could be your last day," said Sharon Olson.

It all happened in the parking lot of 30 Allds St., an assisted living facility.

"They're shocked, everybody is shocked," said Lenny Landry Jr., who lives at the facility.

He says the victim lived there, too.

"He was always a nice guy," Landry said. "He was walking up toward the street and the truck was backing up."

"I could not imagine, I thank the Lord for another day, I really do," said Samantha Young, who lives across the street.

As the news spreads throughout the neighborhood, some can't help but to think about the truck driver.

"Something he's going to carry with him or her for rest of his life," Miner said.

NBC Boston reached out to the waste management company involved in the accident, but we haven't yet heard back.

Police have not released the name of the victim. They’'e asking anyone with information on the crash to give them a call.
