Partially Decomposed Body Found in Belle Isle Marsh ID'd as 16-Year-Old East Boston Boy

A partially decomposed body found last week in an East Boston park has been identified as a 16-year-old boy.

Suffolk district attorney's office says the name of the teen, who was also from East Boston, is not being released pending the medical examiner's ruling on his cause and manner of death.

The teen was positively identified by his family on Monday, according to the DA.

He was reported missing on Nov. 13 by his relatives.

His body was found near Belle Isle Marsh's Bennington Street entrance the evening of Dec. 9, and since the land is technically state property, state police with the DA's office will lead the investigation.

Police say the teen's death doesn't appear to be a random act of violence.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police detectives with the Suffolk district attorney's office at 617-727-8817.
