Red Sox Upper Management to Discuss Racism

Red Sox upper management will meet with The Black Community Information Center Inc.

Boston Red Sox upper management will meet with a delegation from the Black Community Information Center Inc. on Tuesday afternoon to discuss "racist culture" at Fenway and offer potential solutions.

The meeting comes as a response to an incident at Fenway Park earlier this year involving Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones. Fans at Fenway hurled racist insults at Jones, who later claimed, "it was nothing new and other black players say it happens all the time at Fenway."

The meeting will take place at noon in the offices of the Black Community Information Center in Dorchester.

A spokesman for the Black Community Information Center said a statement will be made to the media at the conclusion of the meeting.
