Theranos Accidentally Outs Kraft Group as an Investor

Is New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft an investor in Theranos, the controversial blood-testing startup in Silicon Valley? We can't tell if he is as an individual, but his firm, the Kraft Group, looks like it may be.

According to an email reviewed by The Wall Street Journal, representatives for the Kraft Group were among the 132 recipients in a message addressed to "Theranos investors" last week. This is the first time the Kraft Group has been mentioned in connection with Theranos. Other recipients include representatives of the Walton family and a group founded by billionaire Carlos Slim.

Theranos has been under criminal and civil investigations by the U.S. attorney's office in San Francisco and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission over whether it misled investors and regulators with its blood-testing technology.

A representative for The Kraft Group did not immediately return a request for comment.
