3 Killed in Early Morning Fire

A deadly fire in Ludlow claimed three lives this Independence Day.

Three people were killed Tuesday morning in a house fire in Ludlow.

According to WWLP, the firefighters were called to 68 Newbury St. just before 6:30 a.m.

Crews were able to put out the fire, but found bodies of three victims once inside.

"They were alerted by the Ludlow Police that there were three residents that were possibly unaccounted for," Ludlow Fire Chief Ryan Pease said, according to WWLP. "They were able to locate and remove the victims, who are deceased at this time."

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Massachusetts Fire Marshal's Office.

No further information was immediately available.
