Communities across New England are postponing their annual trick-or-treating hours due to the storm that knocked out power to hundreds of thousands.
In Massachusetts, Lowell officials said they are postponing trick-or-treating from Tuesday until Friday, Nov. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Chelmsford and Billerica also cancelled Tuesday night's festivities because of power outages. Trick-or-treating is now scheduled for Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Chelmsford, and 5 to 8 p.m. in Billerica.
Trick-or-treating was cancelled for Tuesday due to hazardous conditions. Officials in Andover announced that Halloween festivities would be postponed until a later, unspecified date. Eighty percent of the town remained without power Monday evening, and it could be days before power is restored to some residents.
Tyngsboro chose to postpone trick-or-treating from Tuesday to Sunday, Nov. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Dracut postponed its trick-or-treating from Tuesday night to Friday, Nov. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m.
North Andover rescheduled its trick-or-treating from Tuesday to Saturday, Nov. 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

In New Hampshire, Merrimack postponed trick-or-treating from Tuesday to Wednesday, Nov. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. due to safety concerns with downed trees and wires from the storm.
The town of Newmarket decided to postpone trick-or-treating from Monday to Wednesday, Nov. 1 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Trick-or-treating will be postponed in Pelham until Saturday, Nov. 4 from 5 to 8 p.m.
The town of Atkinson will decide Tuesday morning whether or not trick-or-treating would be moved to Thursday night.
In Maine, Topsham postponed its Halloween parade and trick-or-treating from Tuesday until Friday, Nov. 3 due to downed wires and trees.
