5 People Displaced By Roslindale Fire

The fire broke out Wednesday night at a home on Bateman Street, the Boston Fire Department said

Boston firefighters battled flames Wednesday night at a home in the city's Roslindale neighborhood.

Upon arrival, heavy fire was showing from the top of a 2-story wood frame home on Bateman Street, the Boston Fire Department said.

Photos shared by the fire department showed thick gray smoke billowing into the air.

Firefighters were able to quickly knock the blaze down and prevent it from spreading.

Five people and two dogs were displaced by the fire, and they are currently looking for a family cat, the fire department said.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
