Boston Ready for Snow

Officials in Boston are working to make sure the city is fully equipped to handle however much snow it gets this weekend.

The first trucks will hit the streets around 2 a.m. Saturday. By 7 a.m., the city says 300 trucks will be out on the streets, treating and plowing.

"I'm ready to go first thing in the morning," said Walter Santoro of Santoro's Service Center in Burlington, one of the many private plow drivers who will be out in the wee hours of the morning.

The snow equals cash for him.

"It's always good to supplement the income this time of year," he said. "Things get expensive. We're buying gifts, and you've got heating bills coming in."

The state also says it is ready with hundreds of trucks. How many will be deployed depends on the weather.

Saturday is a very busy holiday shopping day with just nine days left until Christmas. Simon Malls and Outlets say as of now, it's business as usual.
