Summery Saturday, Cooler Sunday

Similar to Friday, today we’ll start off with mostly cloudy skies and a few spotty showers that could have some embedded downpours and thunder into southeastern New England, then we’ll see skies gradually clearing with emerging sunshine by mid-afternoon along with high temperatures surging into the lower 80s south, 70s north.

However, tomorrow ends the two-day streak of summery weather. A cold front slides in from the northwest later this evening, ushering in the cool Canadian air for Sunday.

Tonight, a few areas could dip into the upper 30s in the North Country, otherwise lower 40s to the north, near 50 south. We remain dry under mostly to partly clear skies.

For our Sunday, noticeably cooler than the past few days, but it will be closer to seasonable conditions for this time of year. Expect clouds to build in by late morning with a few showers possible, but these will not be widespread.

For next week, in the short term, the next best chance for rain will be Monday into Tuesday, with Tuesday being the wettest out of the two days.

As of right now, Wednesday looks to be the driest day with Thursday and Friday bringing another system to New England. So, at this point, it is a wet start to the first full week of May. Well, at least the gardens will be happy about that.
