Nia Hamm is a general assignment reporter for NBC10 Boston. Her passion for news extends beyond the newsroom into her daily life and she takes pride in using creativity and imagination to produce compelling stories.
Nia is a graduate of Rutgers University, as well as the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Prior to working at NBC10 Boston, Nia worked as a general assignment reporter for Fox 61 News in Hartford, Connecticut. She has also worked as a general assignment reporter for WNYT-TV NewsChannel 13 in Albany, New York as well as a multimedia journalist for News 12 Networks, The Bronx and Brooklyn and Fios1 News (WRNN) in Rye Brook, New York.
Before Nia’s career as an on-air journalist began, she worked behind the scenes in television news as an associate producer for News 12 New Jersey before taking a job and working her way up from a writer, regional producer and eventually a package producer for Fox News. Nia then worked as a video producer and online writer for CNBC News and later as a writer for CBS Radio News Network in Manhattan. Nia has written about a variety of issues for a number of publications and websites, including CNBC.com, The Huffington Post, NBCBLK.com, thegrio.com and Jetmag.com.
In her spare time, Nia produces and hosts the Black Wall Street 1921 podcast, which chronicles the history and events relating to the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921.
