These Are Boston's Most Notable Architectural Buildings

Thanks in part to its place as one of America’s oldest cities and a hub of early Colonial history, Boston has an enviable share of notable architecture extending back centuries.

That includes 18th and 19th century works like the Old State House and Faneuil Hall, as well as today, with modern buildings that are changing neighborhoods and parts of the skyline, especially in places like the Seaport and Kendall Square.

The Business Journal asked local architects to name the city’s most notable building architecturally — one building they’d have to include on any architectural tour of Boston. Many aren't so well-known that they'd make a Duck Boat tour, but are important nonetheless.
