Vertex wins FDA approval for long-awaited non-opioid painkiller

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a non-opioid painkiller made by Boston's Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc.

The drug, which will be marketed as Journavx, is now approved to treat moderate to severe acute pain in adults.
