Wayfair to Focus on Cutting Costs After Another Unprofitable Quarter

Wayfair inc. is focusing on cutting costs after posting another unprofitable quarter, pausing on further expansion in Europe while sticking with its plans for physical retail.

The Boston online furniture retailer, which posted a $378 million net loss for the second quarter on Thursday, can no longer ignore that the outsized demand led by homebound customers during the pandemic has scaled back.
