Jackie Bruno gets a behind-the-scenes look at how "Chicago Med" is made. (Published Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017)

With Chicago Med returning to the air Thursday night on NBC Boston, Jackie Bruno traveled to Chicago to get a behind the scenes look at how they film the show -- including all the intense surgery scenes!

She did a C-section on a prosthetic stomach with Torrey DeVitto and performed an intubation on a dummy with Nick Gehlfuss.

All the blood is actually dyed corn syrup. There is always a real doctor on hand to make sure all the scenes are accurate.

You can catch Chicago Med Thursdays at 9 p.m. on NBC Boston.
