    Jared Leto, fresh off a stint as the Joker in 'Suicide Squad' has signed on in an as-yet unspecified role in the upcoming 'Blade Runner' sequel.

    Leto, a 2014 Oscar winner for his role in 'The Dallas Buyers Club', joins an already star-studded cast that includes Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, and Robin Wright. 'Sicario' director Denis Villeneuve is helming the still to be named film scheduled to be released in October 2017.

    Villeneuve told Entertainment Weekly  he had high expectations for the sci-fi film. "It’s a great team and spirits are very high," Villeneuve said. "Failure is not an option."
