‘The Wizard of Oz' in Boston

The Yellow Brick Road is making its way through Boston.

"The Wizard of Oz" is at the Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre for a two-week stretch. To kick off the run, Dorothy and Toto arrived to the theatre Wednesday night in an antique pickup truck and were escorted in by a few Munchkins.

The production features all the songs made popular by the movie along with a few new additions from Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Shani Hadjian, who plays the Wicked Witch of the West, said the songs help round out the story for audiences.

"[The Wicked Witch's] new song is called 'Red Shoes Blues,'" said Hadjian. "Best one in the show, I think. But it kind of shows you why she wants the shoes, what she's going to do with them, and you kind of go into her home base and where she feels most powerful."

You can see "The Wizard of Oz" through April 24. Tickets start at $35. For more information, click here.
