FLOTUS Unveils White House Christmas Decorations

First lady Melania Trump has unveiled this year's Christmas decorations at the White House. Trump opted for a more traditional decor for her family's first Christmas in the White House, adding a few new touches to the standards.

The State Room is also home to the White House gingerbread house. The gingerbread house is made of 200 pounds of baked dough, 100 pounds of pastillage dough, 20 pounds of chocolate, 20 pounds of icing, five pounds of poured sugar and five pounds of gum paste.

The Christmas trees in the East Room honor Gold Star families. The trees are decorated with gold stars and patriotic ribbon. The White House says visitors can write a messages to their loved ones who are abroad.

Mrs. Trump's signature Christmas includes 71 wreaths, more than 18,000 lights, more than 12,000 ornaments, more than 3,100 yards of ribbon and more than 1,000 feet of garland, the White House said.
