Michael Mathis, CEO of MGM Springfield.
Mathis and Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno hug at the news conference after Mathis thanked the city's "number one citizen" for all his support throughout the project.
Sarno talked about how after a tornado tore through Springfield in 2011, the opening of the resort was "the phoenix rising from the rubble".
