The trains were canceled due to concerns about uncertainty regarding electricity being restored at grade crossings.

The following trains leaving Boston and heading to Portland have been canceled:

    • Train #681; was scheduled to depart Boston at 9:05 a.m.
    • Train #683; was scheduled to depart Boston at 1:10 p.m.
    • Train #865; was scheduled to depart Boston at 5 p.m.
The following trains leaving Portland and heading to Boston have been canceled:
    • Train #682; was scheduled to depart Portland at 8:20 a.m.
    • Train #684; was scheduled to depart Portland at 11:55 a.m.
Customers who had tickets for these trains are asked to call 1-800-USA-RAIL, press "0" in order to speak with a ticket agent about a refund or changing tickets for another train.

More than 1.2 million customers around New England lost power during the peak of a storm that hit Sunday night and lasted into Monday morning this week. In Maine, Gov. Paul LePage declared a state of emergency, saying most residents should have power back by the end of the week.
