Massachusetts' two major casinos are reporting gambling revenue increases while the state's smallest and oldest gambling hall's revenues dropped.

August revenue numbers released Monday by the state's Gaming Commission show that Encore Boston Harbor posted $52.5 million in gross gambling revenues during the month, an 8% increase from July, which was the Wynn-owned resort's first full month of operation.

MGM Springfield, meanwhile, generated about $21 million in gambling revenues in August, up roughly 3% from July. The western Massachusetts resort opened last August.

And Plainridge Park, a slots parlor in Plainville that opened in 2015 and is owned by Penn National Gaming, reported about $12.1 million in gambling revenues in August, down about 3% from July.
