Chipotle Takes to Boston Papers to Reassure Customers After Health Incidents

The founder of Chipotle has taken out full page ads in both The Boston Globe and Boston Herald to address its recent food safety issues.

The restaurant chain is promising that the company will do better in researching where their ingredients come from, in addition to how the foods are handled in their establishments.

Chipotle says even though the new safety measures will include testing and new protocols, prices will not rise.

Chipotle lost money and customers this fall after the E. coli outbreak led the company to close more than 40 stores in the Pacific Northwest, followed by a massive norovirus outbreak at one restaurant in Boston's Cleveland Circle.

"I am deeply sorry that people got sick from eating at our restaurants. It's the worst thing that can happen," CEO Steve Ells told The Associated Press.
