1 Person Hit, Killed by Train

The victim was trespassing on the tracks and was hit by an inbound commuter rail train in Newton

One person is dead after being hit by a train on the commuter rail line in Newton, Massachusetts, on Monday morning.

According to the MBTA's commuter rail Twitter account, the inbound 514 train from Framingham to South Station was stopped around 9:15 a.m. due to a "medical emergency." Delays are expected on other trains using this same line. 

An MBTA spokesman said the victim, a male in his 50s, was trespassing on the tracks and was hit by an inbound train just outside Auburndale Station. Foul play is not suspected.

Transit police, Newton Police and Newton Fire are at the scene. The MBTA is busing passengers on the Framingham/Worcester commuter line between Wellesley Farms and Boston during the investigation.
