Police are investigating a stabbing early Wednesday in East Boston that left a man dead.
According to Boston Police, officers responded to an address on West Eagle Street after receiving a report of a stabbing at around 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday. Upon arrival, they found the man in his 20s suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Neighbors told NBC10 Boston they called 911 right after seeing a Ford Mustang race off and finding the man in the street.
"My neighbors had seen a white Mustang with a couple young men up the street and as they were coming around to park, it was going the wrong way up West Eagle Street," neighbor Bryan Ennis recalled.
Ennis said the victim did not appear to have been struck by the car.
"I didn't see any injuries that looked like he was hit by a car. But he had definitely been stabbed and looked like he had defensive wounds on his forearms," Ennis said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries at about 9 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

A bloody towel, a shoe and evidence markers were spotted in the road while detectives were talking to neighbors.
"I feel sad. I feel sad about his family," neighbor Huy Psan said.
Chelsea Police were trying to help Boston investigators locate the vehicle that may have been involved in the incident.
