1-Year-Old Left in Car, Woman Arrested

A woman was arrested Sunday after allegedly leaving a toddler in a car at a Massachusetts shopping plaza.

The child, a 15-month-old girl, was seen asleep in a vehicle at the Shoppes at Blackstone Valley in Millbury. The vehicle was locked with the engine off and the windows up, Millbury Police said.

Officers on a detail at the outdoor mall were going to use a hammer to get inside, but they said 38-year-old Sheila Parslow came running out first.

Parslow was arrested on charges of reckless endangerment of a child and possession of Oxycodone.

A report was filed with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families, according to police.

Parslow was due to be arraigned Monday. It was not immediately clear if she had an attorney.
