Girl Reports Kidnapping, Sexual Assault in Webster

Webster police are looking for a suspect who may have kidnapped and sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl Friday afternoon.

The girl went to the police station with her parents to report the incident, police said.

The girl reported that she was in the May Street Park in Webster that afternoon when a man in a small black, two-door sedan abducted her. Police said the man may have taken her over the Connecticut border and assaulted her.

Detectives from the Webster Police Department, as well as detectives from the Connecticut State Police immediately began an investigation, which remains very active at this time," police stated in a news release. "As such there is limited information as to what can be released, so as not to jeopardize the ongoing criminal investigation."

Webster Police Officers will conduct more frequent patrol checks of the public parks during their respective patrol shifts.

the suspect was described as Caucasian, possible 5 feet, 10 inches tall and was "scruffy." Police said due to the "sensitive and complex" nature of the investigation, they could not release more details.
