15 ‘Cold-Stunned' Sea Turtles Rescued from Cape Cod

Fifteen critically endangered Kemp's Ridley turtles arrived at the National Marine Life Center from the New England Aquarium after cold stunning on the beaches of Cape Cod.

Cold-stunning is a condition similar to hypothermia.

The turtles arrived at the marine animal hospital in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts, on Thanksgiving.

Kemp's Ridley sea turtles are the most endangered sea turtles in the world, and they strand every Fall on Cape Cod.

The NMLC said on Twitter that they are thankful and happy for the opportunity to rehabilitate and release the turtles admitted to them.

And on Facebook they added they are grateful for the opportunity to help these beautiful animals recover and return to their ocean home.
