15+ Ways to Have Fun This Weekend in and Around Boston

The weekend is finally here and there’s lots of fun happening. From the Boston Flower & Garden Show, to St. Patrick’s Day weekend performances by Boston’s own Dropkick Murphys and of course South Boston’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, there’s plenty of great things to do all weekend long.  

Friday, March 15

Boston Flower & Garden Show

Nothing says spring like the return of the Boston Flower & Garden Show, March 13-17 at Boston’s Seaport World Trade Center. Enjoy your first taste of spring with colorful life-sized gardens, intricate floral arrangements, informative lectures and demonstrations and more. 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Seaport World Trade Center, 200 Seaport Blvd., Boston.

Harpoon Brewery Tours

Guided tours take place daily at Harpoon Brewery, giving visitors an up close and personal view of the brewing process. As part of the tour, visitors 21 and over will enjoy a range of freshly-brewed Harpoon and UFO beers. Tours last approximately one hour. Tickets are $5 and only available the day of the tour and can only be purchased in person. Noon to 6 p.m., Harpoon Brewery, 306 Northern Ave., Boston.

Northeast ComicCon & Collectibles Extravaganza

The Northeast ComicCon & Collectibles Extravaganza returns this weekend. Enjoy cosplay, costume contests, video game free play and competitions, celebrity guests signing autographs, photo opportunities, panels, VIP experiences, vendors and more. Tickets are $10-$18. 3:30-8 p.m., Boxboro Regency Hotel, 242 Adams Place, Boxborough.

Dropkick Murphys 2019 St. Patrick's Day Tour

It wouldn’t be St. Patrick’s Day week in Boston without the Dropkick Murphys and lucky for us they are hitting the stage at the House of Blues tonight for the first of five shows as part of their 2019 St. Patrick's Day Tour. Tickets start at $57. Doors open at 6 p.m. Show starts at 7 p.m. House of Blues, 15 Lansdowne St., Boston.

Blue Man Group at the Charles Playhouse

Combining music, technology and comedy, Blue Man Group creates a form of entertainment that can’t be defined, but appeals to people of all ages. Described as “innovative,” “energetic” and “wildly entertaining,” the best way to truly understand what Blue Man Group is, is to see the show yourself. The Irish Cultural Center is having an event to help the little ones celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this weekend. Head on over for a morning of filled with music, dance, songs, crafts and more. 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the Irish Cultural Centre of New England, 200 New Boston Drive, Canton.

The Northeast ComicCon & Collectibles Extravaganza returns this weekend. Kids in the Kitchen: Asian Lettuce Wraps

Children ages 6-12 can explore and taste the food of the season at Boston Public Markets Kids in the Kitchen series.
