A 15-year-old arrested in Massachusetts last week is accused of making threats against students at his high school that witnesses described as "detailed," and involved "references to the recent tragedy in Parkland, Florida."
The teenager was placed into custody Monday and will be charged with making terrorist threats and threatening to commit a crime.
According to police, students at Cohasset High School reported that the boy was making verbal threats against students and a staff member last Friday. The school's resource officer was approached by students Friday expressing concern for themselves, their classmates and a teacher.
Police said that the boy was removed from an after school program that afternoon and placed in a hospital for evaluation. A warrant for his arrest was obtained over the weekend. Police said that the boy was taken into custody without incident.
Cohasset Police Chief William Quigley praised the "courage and maturity," of the students who reported the incident.
"Although it appears that the boy has no access to firearms, we take these threats very seriously," Quigley said.
Quigley also stated that the incident reaffirms the importance of having an officer in the school district.

According to a statement from the Cohasset police, the students and teacher that were the subject of the threats have been notified and are working with the school district and police.
Cohasset school are on February break through Feb. 25.
The suspect has not been identified. He is scheduled to appear in Quincy Juvenile Court on Tuesday, February 20. It is not known if he has an attorney.
The arrest comes at the heels of several other similar incidents in New England since the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, last Wednesday which killed 17 students and staff members.
