19-Year-Old Accused of Exploiting 2 Children Under 4

She allegedly produced images and videos of herself sexually abusing a child and used the app Kik to trade it

A 19-year-old from Lawrence, Massachusetts, has been accused of sexually abusing two children under the age of 4 and sharing child pornography.

Jakob Nieves, who also goes by the name of Dakota, was indicted Thursday on charges of sexual exploitation of children, distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography, according to the office of U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling.

Nieves is accused of using the app Kik to trade child pornography. She allegedly produced images and videos of herself sexually abusing a child, sending the material to an undercover agent.

A search warrant was executed at Nieves' home on Aug. 14. According to prosecutors, she admitted at that time to distributing child pornography, adding that she met the recipient in a Kik group for people interested in pedophilia.

Nieves was arrested after the search warrant was executed. She has been detained ever since.

It was not immediately clear if Nieves had an attorney.
