2 Storms Seem to Be Heading to New England This Weekend

The morning batch of fluffy snow is done, with sun returning for the rest of today across New England. Highs will stay cool, only reaching the 20s to near 30.

Overnight Thursday night, expect clear skies in northern New England, with single-digit lows there, with more clouds in southern New England. That will keep temperatures in the teens and 20s.

There may even be a few early morning snow showers in parts of Connecticut before temperatures climb into the 30s to near 40 during the afternoon with a mixture of sun and clouds across New England.

The weekend is quite busy, with two storm chances for our area.

The first is Saturday, as a storm passes to our south. That storm will likely get close enough to interact with a piece of energy coming out of the Great Lakes. As a result, expect a few snow showers, especially in parts of Southern New England. Right now impacts look pretty minor.

Most of the day Sunday is quiet until the second storm arrives Sunday night into Monday morning. This one looks bigger, but there are lots of questions about the track it will take.

If the storm tracks farther north, we’d likely see a mix or rain.

A storm that goes farther south would be more wintry, meaning snow is more likely.

We’ll know as we get closer, but after that, it looks like the start of March stays chilly.
