Police: 2 Hurt When Car Crashes Into Wall After Being Shot at

Police are investigating a car crash in Worcester, Massachusetts after its victims were allegedly shot at on Sunday night.

Officers responded to the area of 86 Providence St. at 10 p.m. for a report of a car that had crashed into a wall.

When police arrived, a 21-year-old woman who was driving and a 23-year-old man who was her passenger were still in the vehicle and found that both were suffering from injuries as a result of the crash.

The victims told police they had crashed after being shot at by an unknown vehicle. According to the victims, they had been traveling on Pattison Street when the unknown vehicle pulled up behind them and an occupant inside began to fire shots at their car.

Police said the driver panicked and accelerated the vehicle in an effort to get away, lost control and crashed into a wall at the intersection of Providence and Patterson streets.

Authorities said the victims had not been shot but their car was struck by numerous bullets. A nearby parked vehicle was also hit with a stray bullet.

The driver suffered some broken bones. Her passenger received some cuts and a possible leg injury. Both victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
