2 People Shot in Roxbury Home, Suspect in Custody

Two people were shot inside a transient home in Boston Tuesday night, and the alleged suspect is in police custody.

Authorities responded to Eustis Street in Roxbury around 7:05 p.m. after receiving multiple calls for reports of people shot.

A woman was shot in the leg, and a man was shot in the side. Both victims are said to have non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to be okay.

Police say the incident started after some sort of argument.

"It was all internal. I'm assuming some type of internal beef inside there, and someone had a gun and I think it goes to the point there's too many guns in the hands of the wrong people," said Boston Police Commissioner William Evans.

The suspect was still inside the home when police officers responded to the scene. He was taken into custody and his gun was confiscated.

Commissioner Evans said the suspect, who has not been identified, was being taken to the Roxbury station and will likely face charges of assault with intent to murder.

The motive is not known at this time.

It's unclear when he'll appear in court.
