2 Seriously Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident in Acton, Massachusetts

Route 2A is reportedly shut down while an accident reconstruction team investigates

Two women were badly injured in a 2-vehicle accident on Monday morning in Acton, Massachusetts.

Acton police said the crash occurred around 8:20 a.m. on Great Road near the intersection of Meyer Hill Drive.

A tractor trailer and a car were involved, and the driver and a passenger in the car were trapped inside and had to be freed by firefighters.

The driver was flown by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital, where she is in critical condition. The passenger was taken by ambulance to Lahey Hospital and is in serious condition.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured and remained at the scene.

Route 2A was temporarily shut down between Main and Harris streets while an accident reconstruction team investigated.

The cause of the crash has not been released and no charges and citations have been filed.
