
Two men were stabbed Sunday evening in the Central Square area of Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Police said the stabbings happened about a block apart — one on Massachusetts Avenue and the other on Western Avenue. Officers responded just after 8 p.m.

Both victims are in their 20s, police said, and were believed to be together when they were stabbed following an altercation with a group of two or three males in the area of McElroy Park.
Both of the victims are unhoused men, police said. One is in critical condition and another is now stable, police said.

Their names have not been released.
Prior to Sunday night's stabbings, police said the victim who is now in critical condition had been discharged from an area hospital late Sunday morning after arriving at the emergency entrance with stab wounds after 4 a.m. The man did not cooperate or provide a statement to police at the hospital.
Police said two male suspects were seen running toward River Street following the stabbings.
